A commercial waffle maker has modular structure with a grid housing assembly removably and rotatable mounted on a separate supporting base. The waffle grids are removably mounted in the grid housings with a single screw such that they may be easily removed or replaced with interchangeable grids. The modular structure facilitates the mechanical parts of the device to be disassembled easily for thorough cleaning without having to ship the entire device to another offsite facility. The electrical components are securely housed in fully sealed compartments to prevent electrical hazard during cleaning and operation of the device.
