ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE WALKING FRAME FOR AN INFIRM PATIENT WITH ADJUSTABLE LEG LENGTH A walker frame of the A-frame type includes a front frame element including two depending legs and a rear frame element also including two depending legs which are pivoted about a transverse axis at the top of the frames and are held at a required spacing by straps at the bottom. The rear frame includes an integral cross bar at the top of the legs which forms as backrest for a seat placed on a pair of cross bars at an intermediate height of the front and rear frames respectively. The leg length of each leg is adjustable by a sliding extension portion which passes along the inside of the main leg portion to a position beyond the fastening point of the cross bar and the fastening of the cross bar is arranged without penetration of the outer tube to allow the sliding action to occur. The fastening of extension portions to the main portion occurs by threaded fasteners mounted inside the tube and extending from the inside surface of the inner tube through to the outside surface of the outer tube which is attached a fastening plate.
