A carpet layer's aid for protecting floor baseboards or walls during carpet installation comprising an elongated strip (1) with a separating means (2). The elongated strip (1) is divided by the separating into an edge portion (4), which is used to anchor the elongated strip (1), and a central portion (3), which is used to shield the baseboard or wall. The separating means (2) is integral with the elongated strip (1) and allows the central portion (3) to be detached from the edge portion (4) of the elongated strip (1) upon completing the carpet installation. The edge portion (4) of the elongated strip (1) is left behind under the tack strip (6) and carpet.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif d'appoint pour poseur de tapis, destiné à protéger des plinthes de plancher ou des parois durant la mise en place de tapis, comportant une bande de forme allongée (1) pourvue d'organes de séparation (2). Ceux-ci divisent cette bande (1) en partie constituant un chant (4) utilisée pour l'ancrage de la bande de forme allongée (1) et en partie centrale (3) faisant office de bouclier pour la plinthe ou la paroi. Ces organes de séparation (2), qui sont solidaires de la bande de forme allongée (1), permettent à la partie centrale (3) de se détacher de celle du chant (4) de ladite bande (1) en cours d'achèvement de la mise en place du tapis. Cette partie constituant le chant (4) de la bande de forme allongée (1) est laissée sous la bande de bâti de clouage (6) et le tapis.
