The invention relates to a wall element for a magnetically shielded room and to a magnetically shielded room. The wall element comprises at least one first layer (1) which is formed of metal plate having a high electrical conductivity, and at least two layers, a second layer (2) and a third layer (3), which consist of metal plates having a high magnetic permeability. The layers (1,2,3) are superimposed one on top of another in surface contact with each other without any separating air gaps, so that each first layer (1) having a high electrical conductivity lies between each second (2) and third layers (3) having a high permeability substantially in surface contact with the second and third layers, the layers together forming a compact structure in which the product (.sigma. x ~) of electrical conductivity (.sigma.) and permeability (~) is maximized so as to minimize the penetration depth of magnetic interference.
L'invention se rapporte à un élément de paroi pour une chambre protégée par magnétisme et à une chambre protégée par magnétisme. L'élément de paroi comprend au moins une première couche (1) formée d'une plaque métallique ayant une forte conductivité électrique et au moins deux couches, une deuxième couche (2) et une troisième couche (3), constituées de plaques métalliques ayant une forte perméabilité magnétique. Les couches (1, 2, 3) sont superposées l'une sur l'autre et entrent en contact l'une avec l'autre par la surface sans qu'il y ait d'espace d'air de séparation, de manière que la première couche (1) ayant une conductivité électrique forte vient entre la deuxième (2) et la troisième couches (3) ayant une forte perméabilité sensiblement en contact par la surface avec la deuxième et la troisième couches. Les couches forment ensemble une structure compacte dans laquelle le produit (.sigma. x µ) de conductivité électrique (.sigma.) et de perméabilité (µ) qui est maximisé de manière à réduire au minimum une profondeur de pénétration de l'interférence magnétique.
