ABSTRACT A wallet for money or valuables, and which may, for example, be carried by bathers or people engaged in sporting activities comprises a rigid body comprising two comple- mentary parts 10, 12 connected by a flexible hinge 14 whereby the parts 10, 12 can be swung apart to open the wallet and folded together about the hinges to close the wallet. In the closed position, the two parts 10, 12 are sealed with respect to each other to exclude water, sand, grit, etc. The wallet may be attached to a lanyard or chain by which it may be hung around the neck or waist or suspended from the wrist. The wallet may incorporate an alarm which is operated if the chain or lanyard is broken, or disconnected from the wallet, by a thief.
