The invention concerns a washing and extracting head for an apparatus or automaton designed to wash microplates and a corresponding apparatus. Said washing and extracting head is mobile above the microplate(s) in treating position and comprises a alignment of dispensing needles or tubes and an alignment of suction needles or tubes associated in pairs, the number of the two types of needle pairs being equal to the number of wells per column or per row and the spacing between two adjacent pairs being equal to the spacing between two adjacent wells of the same column or row. The invention is characterised in that the suction needles (5), and the parts of the consecutive suction and/or recovery circuit (5'), have a passage cross sectional diameter not less than the largest transverse dimension of the sample supports (3) present in the wells (2') and said head (1) comprises or co-operates with at least means retaining the microplate (2) to be washed or preventing it from being lifted, at least during the suction extraction phase.
La présente invention a pour objet une tête de lavage et d'extraction pour appareil ou automate de lavage de micro-plaques et un appareil correspondant. Tête de lavage et d'extraction mobile au-dessus de la ou des microplaque(s) en position de traitement et comprenant un alignement d'aiguilles ou de tubulures de distribution et un alignement d'aiguilles ou de tubulures d'aspiration associées en paires, le nombre de paires d'aiguilles des deux types étant égal au nombre de puits par colonne ou par rangée et l'espacement entre deux paires adjacentes d'aiguilles étant égal à l'espacement entre deux puits adjacents de la même colonne ou rangée, caractérisée en ce que les aiguilles d'aspiration (5), ainsi que les parties du circuit (5') d'aspiration et/ou de récupération consécutives, présentent un diamètre de section de passage au moins égal à la plus grande dimension transversale des supports d'échantillons (3) présents dans les puits (2') et en ce que ladite tête (1) comporte ou coopère avec au moins un moyen assurant le maintien de la microplaque (2) à laver ou empêchant son soulèvement, au moins durant la phase d'extraction par aspiration.
