Because of being provided with a cleaning sensor (9) detecting the soiling of the laundry and a washing time inference unit (14) determining the washing time by means of the fuzzy inference with having a time through which the detected value of this cleaning sensor reaches its saturation and the detected value at that time as the input thereof, and in this washing time inference unit (14), the extent of soiling and the type of soiling which an operator judges as the degree of the soiling are input in a form of a detected value at the time when the cleaning sensor (9) indicated a saturation and a time up to reaching this saturation, and at the same time, the rule by which the user determines the washing time from the degree of soiling (extent of soiling and type of soiling) is realized by the fuzzy inference, then the washing time determined by the washing time inference unit (14) can be made to be the same as the user determines from his or her experience and know-how, enabling attaining a fine and most suitable washing which can be done by the user.
