- 1 - Abstract: Washing liquid is ejected and circulated through a suction pump and a hose from an outer tub and is sprinkled over clothes in a washing tub. The amount of washing liquid supplied to the washing tub is set to be about three to eight times larger than that of the clothes to be washed in a weight ratio. Washing is enhanced by sprinkling the washing liquid over the clothes. By setting the amount of washing liquid supplied to the washing tub as small as about three to eight (3 to 8) times the weight of the clothes the clothes are prevented from floating on the washing liquid. Accordingly it is possible to promote the friction and expansion and contraction action of the clothes and to increase the direct frictional effect caused by an agitator, with a consequent improvement in the wash- ing operation, i.e. the cleaning rate.
