A neutralization system for controlling the pH of the washwater used to clean and maintain polyacrylic bound glass forming equipment. The neutralization system (62) introduces a base solution (64) to a washwater solution (26) when the pH of the washwater solution contained in a closed loop washwater recovery system (12) falls below the range of about 8.0 to 8.5, thereby substantially reducing the corrosion rate of the components of the equipment associated with acidic polyacrylic acid binder (18), with the addition of an optional maleic acid cobinder or maleic anhydride cobinder and washwater solution. A closed- loop hoodwall washwater recovery system (100) may also be introduced in addition to the neutralization system that allows for the recovery and reuse of polyacrylic acid binder and optional maleic acid cobinder or maleic anhydride cobinder with a minimal amount of base solution, thereby minimizing degradation of insulation properties of polyacylic acid bound glass fiber products.

L'invention porte sur un système de neutralisation régulant le pH de l'eau de lavage servant au nettoyage et à l'entretien des équipements de production d'éléments de verre liés par des résines polyacryliques. Ledit système (62) de neutralisation introduit une solution basique (64) dans la solution d'eau de lavage circulant dans un système (12) de récupération d'eau de lavage en circuit fermé lorsque son pH tombe au-dessous de la plage d'environ 8,0 à 8,5. Il en résulte une réduction notable de la corrosion des pièces des équipements en contact avec les liants (18) acides d'acide polyacrylique. On peut également ajouter facultativement un co-liant d'acide maléïque ou d'anhydride maléïque à la solution de lavage. On peut en outre prévoir un système (100) de récupération à trémie en plus du système en boucle fermée permettant de récupérer et réutiliser le liant d'acide polyacrylique et le co-liant d'acide maléïque ou d'anhydride maléïque avec une quantité minimale de solution basique ce qui réduit la dégradation des propriétés isolantes des produits de fibres de verre liées par de l'acide polyacrylique.
