The waste activated sludge anaerobic contact waste stream treatment method and system for treating a waste stream may have an influent waste stream (52) communicated to an anaerobic contact element (12). A waste activated sludge (32) produced from a second influent waste stream process may be introduced into the anaerobic contact element (12) and mixed with the influent waste stream (52) for processing therein. The anaerobic contact element (12) may be maintained for conditions to facilitate the uptake of soluble organic pollutants and to form a fluid having a particulate matter contained therein. The resulting fluid may have the particulate matter separated from the fluid to produce a treated effluent (54) and a waste sludge (56).
L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'eaux résiduaires par contact anaérobie faisant intervenir des boues activées excédentaires, ainsi qu'un système de traitement d'eaux résiduaires, caractérisés en ce qu'un flux d'eaux résiduaires affluent (52) peut être mis en communication avec un élément de contact anaérobie (12). Selon l'invention, des boues activées excédentaires (32) produites par un second processus de traitement d'un flux d'eaux résiduaires affluent peuvent être introduites dans l'élément de contact anaérobie (12) et mélangées au flux d'eaux résiduaires affluent (52) en vue du traitement.
