An integrated process for the treatment of organic waste comprising the steps of subjecting organic waste to biological digestion in a bioreactor (20); contacting the resulting mixture of biosolids and unconverted organic material with one or more oxidizing agents (42) in a chemical treatment unit (40); monitoring the oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) of the mixture of biosolids and unconverted organic material in the chemical treatment unit (40) and adjusting the concentrations of the oxidizing agents (42) to maintain the ORP within a selected range greater than 0 mV to condition the mixture so that it is more amenable to biodegradation; and returning the conditioned effluent to the biological reactor (20). The combined effects of improving biodegradability through chemical conditioning act and controlled recycle of biosolids act to reduce net biosolids production to nearly zero.
La présente invention concerne un procédé intégré de traitement de déchets organiques comportant des étapes qui consistent à: soumettre les déchets organiques à une digestion biologique dans un bioréacteur (20); mettre en contact le mélange de produits biologiques solides et de matière organique non convertie avec un ou plusieurs agents d'oxydation (42) dans une unité de traitement chimique (40) ; contrôler le potentiel d'oxydoréduction dans le mélange de produits biologiques solides et de la matière organique non convertie dans l'unité de traitement chimique (40) et ajuster les niveaux de concentration des agents oxydants (42) afin de maintenir le potentiel d'oxydoréduction dans une plage choisie supérieure à 0 mV en vue de conditionner le mélange de sorte à le rendre plus apte à la biodégradation ; acheminer à nouveau les effluents conditionnés vers le bioréacteur (20). Les effets combinés d'amélioration de la biodégradabilité par un traitement de conditionnement chimique et du recyclage contrôlé des produits biologiques solides permet de réduire la production nette de produits biologiques solides à presque zéro.
