ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE WASTE WATER TREATING PROCESS FOR FEEDS WITH HIGH NH3/H2S RATIOS Hydrogen sulfide and ammonia are separated from waste water having a high ammonia to hydrogen sulfide ratio by stripping distillation in interconnected distillation columns. Purified water is withdrawn as bottoms from one column (an ammonia stripper), and ammonia vapors are recovered by partially condensing the overhead vapors of that column and passing a portion of the condensate to another column (a hydrogen sulfide stripper) where hydrogen sulfide vapors are withdrawn overhead from the second column and the bottoms from the second column are recycled to the first column.
