The present invention relates to a process and apparatus for waste water treatment in which encapsulation flocculation and accelerated biological reaction in aeration by micro entrapment are introduced. The process and apparatus consists of an oil separator (optional), an anoxic tank, a sludge pulser, an aeration reactor with accelerated biological reaction by micro entrapment (biological micro-entrapment reactor, BMR), an encapsulation flocculation and poly-complexed bridging reactor (EFPR), a sludge separator (filter, settling tank or the like) and an UV disinfector (optional). A part of separated sludge (encapsulated sludge) from the sludge separator is returned to the BMR with the addition of micro entrapment additives (ME accelerators) to change fluid properties and parameters and increase collision frequency and "contact time" between sludge biomass and contaminant particles in waste water, which improves BOD load in aeration section up to 8 ~ 15 kg/m3 per day. Another part of sludge is returned to mix with coagulant being used and added to the EFPR, and the remaining sludge is led to the anoxic tank. The treated water after UV disinfector (optional) or after BMR is partially returned and mixed with influent in the cases of higher BOD and high COD waste water being treated. In the EFPR, the encapsulating chemicals (or encapsulant) with coagulant are added to induce encapsulation flocculation to entrap the contaminant particles in waste water. The present invention can be used to treat domestic waste water and high concentration of organic wastewater from some industries. And a part of the present invention including EFPR with encapsulation flocculation and sludge separator can treat lower BOD/COD ratio of waste water from industries.
