A method for the post treatment of wastewater wherein the wastewater has been subjected to a purification process prior to discharging the wastewater into a body of water, the method comprising the step of passing the wastewater from the purification process to a vessel to create turbulence in the wastewater, withdrawing the wastewater from a bottom portion of the vessel, and discharging the wastewater in the body of water. The process substantially reduces or eliminates the foam or froth which otherwise can occur; the process also assists in reducing odors.
