A method and apparatus for analysing a chemical species in a fluid are disclosed. The apparatus comprises filtering means (15, 17) upstream and downstream of the sample preparation section (3). The fluid is diverted from a line (1) by an arrangement of pumps (27) and valves through the upstream filter (15) to the digestor (11) and through the downstream filter (17) out to the analyser/detector system (5). The pumps (27) and valve arrangement allows the purging of the sample preparation section (3) and backflushing of the filters (15, 17), the inlet line (7) and the outlet line (13).

Procédé et appareil destinés à l'analyse d'une espèce chimique dans un fluide. L'appareil comprend des filtres (15, 17) placés en amont et en aval de la section de préparation (3) d'échantillon. Le fluide est dévié d'un conduit (1) par un agencement de pompes (27) et de soupapes afin de passer à travers le filtre en amont (15) pour aller jusqu'à la cuve de digestion (11) et à travers le filtre en aval (17) pour sortir du système d'analyse/de détection (5). L'agencement de pompes (27) et de soupapes permet de purger la section de préparation (3) d'échantillon et de rincer les filtres (15, 17), le conduit d'admission (7) et le conduit d'évacuation (13).
