To provide a water and oil repellent aqueous dispersion which is excellent in water and oil repellency and the waterdrop rolling property and has dispersion stability even in the presence of co-agents and contaminants in the treatment bath. A process comprising emulsifying a stock composition containing a polymerizable monomer containing a (meth)acrylate having a polyfluoroalkyl group as an essential component, a non-fluorine type surfactant containing no aromatic group, water and a solvent having a viscosity of at least 3 cP at 25°C under pressure and polymerizing the stock composition, and a water and oil repellent aqueous dispersion obtained by the process.

Cette dispersion aqueuse pour répulsifs eau et huile se révèle remarquable en matière de répulsivité eau et huile et de répulsivité à l'encontre des gouttes d'eau. Elle fait montre d'une remarquable stabilité à la dispersion même si le bain de traitement comporte également une substance chimique ou si une impureté y est présente. Le procédé consiste à émulsionner sous pression une composition de matériau de départ comprenant un ou plusieurs monomères comportant comme ingrédient essentiel un (méth)acrylate possédant un groupe polyfluoroalkyle, un tensioactif non fluoré ne contenant pas de groupes aromatiques, de l'eau et un solvant dont la viscosité à 25 DEG C est égale ou supérieure à 3 cP. Ces monomères émulsionnés sont ensuite polymérisés. Grâce à ce procédé, on obtient la dispersion aqueuse selon l'invention.
