This invention relates to an aqueous coating composition comprising water and a composition in an amount effective to form a coating which improves the adhesion of an article comprising: (a) at least one acrylic resin; (b) at least one glycol ether; (c) at least one surfactant; and (d) ammonia or ammonium hydroxide. Further this invention relates to a process for coating an article comprising the steps of: (i) cleaning the article with at least one alkaline cleaner; (ii) applying the above-described aqueous coating composition to the article; and (iii) drying the article. The coatings of the present invention when applied to fasteners provide increased adhesion over uncoated fasteners. Further, the coating and the process do not contain environmentally hazardous solvents. Articles coated with the present process do not stick together after packaging. The present invention provides for incorporation of dyes and pigments into the coatings of the fasteners.
La présente invention porte sur une composition de revêtement aqueux constituée d'eau et d'une composition en quantité voulue pour former un revêtement qui améliore l'adhésion d'un produit comprenant: (a) au moins une résine acrylique; (b) au moins un éther glycolique; (c) au moins un surfactant; et (d) de l'ammoniac ou de l'hydroxide d'ammonium. L'invention porte aussi sur un procédé de revêtement d'un objet comprenant les étapes suivantes: (i) nettoyer l'objet avec au moins un produit alcalin; (ii) appliquer sur l'objet la composition de revêtement aqueux décrite ci-dessus; et (iii) faire sécher l'objet. Appliqué à des pièces de fixation, le revêtement de la présente invention assure une meilleure adhésion sur des pièces de fixation non revêtues. De plus, le revêtement et le procédé ne comportent pas de solvants nocifs pour l'environnement. Les objets revêtus suivant le procédé de la présente invention ne collent pas les uns aux autres une fois emballés. La présente invention prévoit l'incorporation de teinture et de pigments dans le revêtement des objets.
