ABSTRACT The invention relates to a cleaning system in which, during the cleaning procedure, the articles have to pass a plurality of treatment stations in a direction which is opposite to that in which the flow of the cleaning liquid is established. Means are provided to remove cleaning liquid from the first, most contaminated treatment station and to supply it to an ultrafilter and further to supply at least part of the permeate from this filter to one of the latest or the last treatment station.
