A water-based coating composition which is prepared by dispersing a thermosetting coating composition in water in the presence of a suspension stabilizer consisting of a block copolymer and, if necessary, ridding the obtained aqueous dispersion of organic solvents and has a mean particle diameter of 0.1 to 10 µm, characterized in that the block copolymer is a product of neutralization with a basic substance of a compound (c) obtained by radical-polymerizing a compound (a) of the general formula (1) with a polymerizable unsaturated monomer (b) in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator.
L'invention concerne une composition de revêtement à base aqueuse dont la préparation consiste à disperser une composition de revêtement thermodurcissable dans de l'eau en la présence d'un stabilisant de suspension comprenant un copolymère séquencé et, si nécessaire, à débarrasser la dispersion aqueuse obtenue de solvants organiques, et présentant un diamètre particulaire moyen de 0,1 à 10 µm, caractérisée en ce que le copolymère séquencé est un produit de neutralisation avec une substance basique d'un composé (c) obtenu par polymérisation radicalaire d'un composé (a) de la formule générale (1) avec un monomère polymérisable insaturé (b) en la présence d'un initiateur de polymérisation radicalaire.
