An aqueous water repellent composition comprising the reaction product of one or more of a carboxylic acid or anhydride containing from 3 to 22 carbon atoms and a polyfunctional aromatic or aliphatic amine or substituted amine containing from 2 to 25 carbon atoms and a water soluble metal complex crossiinking agent containing one or more metals selected from Groups Ia, Ila, IIIa, IVa and the first and second rows of transition metals from the Periodic Table of Elements. The composition may contain wax and is dispersed in water to form a water repellent system.

Composition aqueuse hydrofuge comprenant le produit de réaction d'un ou de plusieurs acides carboxyliques ou anhydrides contenant de 3 à 22 atomes de carbone et une amine aromatique polyvalente ou une amine aliphatique ou encore une amine substituée contenant de 2 à 25 atomes de carbone et un agent de réticulation d'un complexe métallique soluble dans l'eau contenant un ou plusieurs métaux choisis parmi les groupes Ia, IIa, IIIa, IVa, et les premières et secondes rangées de métaux de transition provenant de la table périodique des éléments. La composition peut contenir de la cire; elle est dispersée dans l'eau pour former un système hydrofuge.
