The present invention relates to a wax-based composition comprising at least about 0.5-30 % water in a water-in-oil emulsion, wherein water is encapsulated in a lamellar lipid vesicle capable of withstanding wax melting point temperatures. The composition is useful in delivering water soluble actives in an anhydrous base, and is particularly well-adapted for uses in lipsticks and lip-care products.

La présente invention a trait à une composition d'émulsion inverse à base de paraffine et contenant au moins environ de 0,5 à 30 % d'eau. Dans cette composition l'eau est encapsulée dans une vésicule de lipides lamellaire susceptible de résister aux températures correspondant au point de fusion de la paraffine. Cette composition est utilisée pour libérer des substances actives, solubles dans l'eau, dans une base anhydre et est particulièrement bien adaptée aux utilisations dans des bâtons de rouge à lèvres et dans des produits de soin des lèvres.
