Water-dispersible polyurethane prepolymers comprising one or more organic diisocyanates; a difunctional compound having a molecular weight of from about 250 to about 10,000 which is difunctionally reactive with the organic diisocyanate and which is free of side chain polyoxyalkylene units; and a dispersion diol which is difunctionally reactive with the organic diisocyanate and which contains side chain polyoxyalkylene units. Methods of preparation of the prepolymers and their use in aqueous polyurethane dispersions are also described.
L'invention concerne des prépolymères polyuréthane dispersables dans l'eau, qui contiennent les éléments suivants: un ou plusieurs diisocyanates organiques; un composé difonctionnel qui a un poids moléculaire variant environ de 250 à 10000, qui est difonctionnellement réactif avec le diisocyanate organique et qui est dépourvu d'unités polyoxyalkylène à chaîne latérale; et un diol de dispersion, qui est difonctionnellement réactif avec le diisocyanate organique et qui contient des unités polyoxyalkylène à chaîne latérale. L'invention a également pour objet des procédés de préparation desdits prépolymères et leur utilisation dans des dispersions polyuréthane aqueuses.
