The invention concerns a water filter device with a filtrate container with side-mounted handle, with an untreated water container and with a filter comprising purifying agent which is in flow communication with the filtrate container and the untreated water container, heating means being provided for heating and a pump for the flow movement of the filtered water. The invention allows a high dispensing rate of water to the boiling jug, easy handling of the device and the avoidance of lime deposits in the boiling jug.
