IMPROVED WATER-IMMERGED, EXPANDABLE CARTRIDGE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cartridge that is expandable in water, and which may be applicable to various different uses; the cartridge in one design including two layers of woven fabric having crossing rows of pockets formed therebetween by means of crossing rows of stitches through the two fabrics, each pocket being partly filled with a water-expandable powdered material, so that when the pockets are folded one over the other along the crossing rows of stitches to form the cartridge, and the cartridge is thereafter soaked in water, the water-expandablematerial causes the pockets to swell so to expand the cartridge at a faster rate and stronger force due to the hinging actions along axes at right angles to each other.
