The present invention consists of a protection device for protecting a structure such as a house building or an appliance item or the like against natural disasters such as flood, wind and the like. The protection device includes a liner, being water-impermeable and adhering, covers the base and the perimeter of the structure, an inferior section of the liner being folded over a ground surface surrounding the structure all around and onto which are applied heavy weights such as bags of sands to provide a hermetic protection between the surface and the inferior section of the liner. The preferably sticky liner is furthermore provided with layers overlapping one another to upwardly extend protection of the side walls of the structure and allow waterproofness between adjacent layers, each upper adjacent layer being the continuity of the previous lower layer. Also, layers of the liner can successively and continuously wrap over the roof of the structure while being secured to the layers wrapping the side walls. An elasticized member secured to internal corners of the structure are used to force the layers to better assume the internal corners and keep them there against. The present invention also relates to the method of using such protection device.
