ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The activity of a used dehydrogenation catalyst is im- proved by an increase in the water concentration maintained in the re- actants toward the end of the catalyst's life. Optimum operation results when the water concentration is increased gradually as the temperature of the reactor is increased. The process preferably utilizes a catalyst com- prising a platinum component, a germanium component, and an alkali or al- kaline earth component on an alumina carrier material.
