A motorcycle-like configured watercraft (20) that employs a hull member (22) to receive an engine (72) and water jet nozzle means (82) to propel the craft and the craft includes a seat area (48) for a rider and steering means (28) to control the direction of the craft. In addition, the craft includes a separate front ski member (24) that has a water ballast chamber (160) that may be connected to the steering means, and a pair of side skirts (26) secured to the hull that contains water ballast chambers (106). The water ballast chambers designed to be capable of becoming quickly flooded when the craft is at rest to partially submerge the craft for ease of entry of the rider and means to cause rapid evacuation of the water in the chambers as the craft increases speed to raise the craft without restriction to its running and planing position.

L'invention a pour objet un véhicule de navigation (20) dont la configuration ressemble à celle d'une moto. Ledit véhicule est équpé notamment d'une coque (22) contenant un moteur (72), d'une buse à hydrojet (82) chargée de la propulsion du véhicule, d'une selle (48) monoplace et d'un guidon (28) pour diriger le véhicule. Il possède également à l'avant un ski séparé (24) équipé d'un ballast d'eau (160) qui peut être relié au guidon, et une paire de jupes latérales (26) fixées à la coque, qui contient aussi des ballasts d'eau (106). Ces ballasts sont conçus de façon à pouvoir être rapidement immergés lorsque le véhicule est au repos de façon à ce que ledit véhicule se trouve partiellement submergé, ce qui permet au conducteur de s'installer plus facilement. De plus, l'eau des ballasts est évacuée rapidement à mesure que le véhicule augmente sa vitesse, ce qui lui permet de se soulever sans encombre jusqu'à sa position de course et de planing.
