There is described a method of preparing a water-less lithographic plate which comprises a support having an oleophilic surface there being coated on the oleophilic surface a mixture which comprises as one component an ink-repellent and water-repellent release material or a mixture of such materials, and as the other essential component a water-insoluble photosensitive composition which is rendered aqueous developable by light exposure, or a water-insoluble composition which is rendered aqueous developable by heat, the ratio of release material to water-insoluble composition in the mixture being from 20 to 80 release material to 80 - 20 water-insoluble composition by weight, imagewise treating the mixture on the support, developing the mixture with an aqueous alkali solution to render the treated areas of the water-insoluble composition water-soluble and to remove this composition together with the release material, to expose the oleophilic surface of the support in the treated areas of the plate and leaving the release material and the water- insoluble composition in the untreated areas of the plate so yielding a negative working water-less lithographic plate.
Cette invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'une plaque lithographique ne nécessitant pas d'apport d'eau, ladite plaque comportant un support ayant une surface oléophile recouverte d'un mélange contenant d'une part, comme premier composant, un composant constitué d'une matière de séparation repoussant l'encre et l'eau ou un mélange de matières de ce type, et d'autre part, comme second composant essentiel, soit une composition photosensible insoluble dans l'eau que l'on rend développable en solution aqueuse en l'exposant à la lumière, soit une composition insoluble dans l'eau que l'on rend développable en solution aqueuse en la chauffant, le rapport de la matière de séparation à la composition insoluble dans l'eau dans le mélange étant de 20 à 80 % en poids de matière de séparation pour 80 à 20 % en poids de composition insoluble dans l'eau. Ledit procédé consiste à traiter toute l'image avec le mélange sur le support, à développer le mélange avec une solution alcaline aqueuse pour rendre soluble dans l'eau les surface traitées de la composition insoluble dans l'eau et à retirer cette composition en même temps que la matière de séparation, à exposer la surface oléophile du support au niveau des zones traitées de la plaque et à laisser la matière de séparation et la composition insoluble dans l'eau au niveau des zones non traitées de la plaque de manière à produire une plaque lithographique négative ne nécessitant pas d'apport d'eau.
