WATER METERING ASSEMBLY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A meter mounting assembly has a meter support plate mounted on a base via pillars. Flow-ways extend upwardly from the base and engage flow-ways extending downwardly from the support plate. One of the flow-ways from the plate contains a stop-cock in which the drive spindle rotates, but does not move axially, and the valve spindle moves axially but does not rotate. A meter unit in a casing is supported on the support plate, meter unit being clamped in the casing by the action of a locking ring which has apertures for flow-ways. Between the stop-cock and the flow-ways to the meter unit is a turbulence reducing chamber. The mounting of the meter unit is designed so that it may be used, with differently configured components, for different meters. The resulting assembly is easy to dismantle for repairs.
