ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a water-metering installation, a meter (1) mounted on a base (4) is connected to an inlet pipe (2) and an outlet pipe (3) which open into the base. In order to protect the pipes and the base against frost, a casing (6) of heat-insulating material surrounds the pipes (2, 3) and has an opening at the lower end. The upper end (7) of the casing has a vertical passage (8) in which the base (4) of the meter is engaged and anchored directly in the insulating material.
