- 24 - WATER-PERMEABLE CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE PACKAGING DEVICE FROM CELLOPHANE AND MICROPOROUS FILM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a container for the storage in a controlled atmosphere of fresh produce (fruit, vegetables, or flowers) that is constructed of substantially gas-impermeable walls having a gas-permeable panel that permits controlled flows of CO2 and O2 into and out of the container and a panel composed of cellophane that is permeable to moisture and substantially impermeable to the flow of O2 and CO2, to enhance retention of freshness of the produce while controlling the moisture concentration in the container.
