ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A waterproof sealing head assembly for a street lamp. It comprises an assembly formed of a circular plate, to be fixed to a post, and a circular supporting plate on which is removably mounted a lighting unit; the module plate being of a shorter diameter than the post plate so that the latter overhangs it and a peri- pheral path is formed along the post plate. The two plates are connected by spring loaded joints which allow the plates to move apart against the bias of the springs but does not permit their relative rotation. A border ring surrounds the post plate and has an inner ledge that is inserted in facing relation with the peripheral path of the post plate. A sealing groove is formed on the inner ledge and a sealing ring inserted therein. Ramps are provided on both the ring ledge and the module post to coact with one another in spreading the post plate and module plate apart in order to force the border ring ledge and its sealing ring against the peripheral path of the post plate.
