The present invention is directed to an ink jet recordable substrate. In particular, the present invention relates to a water-resistant coating composition for an ink jet recordable substrate, a method for preparing the coating composition and a method of applying said coating composition to produce a water-resistant ink jet recordable substrate. The water-resistant coating composition includes an aqueous polyurethane dispersion; an aqueous solution of a cationic nitrogen-containing polymeric dye fixative compound; and an acrylic polymer, wherein the coating composition has a pH of 7 or less.

La présente invention concerne un substrat se prêtant à l'impression par jets d'encre. L'invention concerne plus particulièrement, d'une part une composition de revêtement résistant à l'eau pour un substrat se prêtant à l'impression par jets d'encre, et d'autre part un procédé pour l'application de cette composition de revêtement pour produire un substrat résistant à l'eau et se prêtant à l'impression par jets d'encre. Cette composition de revêtement résistant à l'eau est faite, d'une part d'une de polyuréthane en dispersion dans l'eau, d'autre part d'une solution aqueuse d'un composé cationique fixant les colorants polymères azotés, et enfin d'un polymère acrylique, le pH de cette composition de revêtement ne dépassant pas 7.
