The invention relates to a floor finish or alike matrix intended to coalesce and produce a safety device with sufficient amount of alkaline agents and selected sensors optimized and stabilized in such a way to form a clear film after drying on a substrate, especially a substrate selected from the group comprising vinyl, concrete, wood or the like surface; said clear film having good physical properties on the floor but becomes rapidly coloured by contact with water, said coloration being intended to be a warning signal to prevent any dangerous or costly falls. The invention also relates to the use of said floor finish as a warning device for the presence of water on a floor. The invention relates to floor finish products used to restore the floor shiny appearance, restore the protection of the flooring and restore the safety feature of the finish.
