A water barrier sheet which comprises an ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer, characterized in that the copolymer is an ethylene/C3-20 .alpha.-olefin copolymer which has an MFR of 0.05 to 10 g/10 min and a density (d) of 880 to 935 Kg/m3, in which the temperature (Tm (~C)) at which an endothermic curve of the copolymer determined by DSC has the maximum peak and the density (d (kg/cm3)) satisfy the relationship Tm~0.4xd-244, and which has a room- temperature n-decane-soluble content of 3.0 wt. % or lower. The water barrier sheet is excellent in mechanical strength properties including tensile strength, tear strength and elongation, and in flexibility and fusion bonding characteristics.

L'invention concerne une feuille imperméable à l'eau comprenant un copolymère éthylène/.alpha.-oléfine caractérisé en ce qu'il désigne un copolymère éthylène/C¿3-20? .alpha.-oléfine dont le MFR est de 0,05 à 10 g/10 min et dont la densité (d) est de 880 à 935 kg/m?3¿, la température (Tm (·C)) garantissant le rapport Tm~0,4xd-244 de la densité (d (kg/cm?3¿)) et assurant un pic maximum d'une courbe endothermique du copolymère déterminé par DSC. Le copolymère présente une température ambiante à teneur en n-décane-soluble de 3,0 % en poids ou moins. La feuille imperméable est dotée de propriétés de résistance mécanique comprenant une résistance à la traction, une résistance au déchirement et à l'allongement, une résistance au perçage et de propriétés de liaison par fusion et de souplesse.
