Abstract In a water ski harness, the unit forming the connection between the bridle and the skier's tow line is provided in the form of a combined float and coupler. The unit is formed by an elongate buoyant body of low-density material having in place of the conventional pulley, a transverse channel one side of which is formed by a low friction surface of P.T.F.E. The bridle extends through this channel along the surface so that the unit can move in an unimpeded fashion longitudinally of the bridle. At the rear end of the body there is a longitudinal aperture the forward end of which communicates with a transverse through aperture, there being a pair of grooves formed on the rear end positioned to opposite sides of these apertures. Thus, a simple connection to the tow line is provided by passing the looped end of the tow line into the longitudinal aperture, laterally out one side of the transverse through aperture, and then spreading the loop so that opposite sides of it lie in the two grooves. Tension forces applied to the tow line will thus tighten the loop and bind it securely to the rear end of the body.
