Disclosed is a water-soluble fluorescent material having an emission range in the visible region and excellent luminous efficiency. This water-soluble fluorescent material contains a semiconductor nanocrystal; a chain or cyclic phenol compound having a hydrophilic group and a hydrophobic group which covers at least a part of the surface of the semiconductor nanocrystal; and a coordinating organic compound covering at least an other part of the surface of the semiconductor nanocrystal.

L'invention décrit un matériau fluorescent hydrosoluble ayant un spectre d'émission dans la région visible et une excellente efficacité lumineuse. Ce matériau fluorescent hydrosoluble contient un nanocristal semi-conducteur ; un composé phénol à chaîne ou cyclique ayant un groupe hydrophile et un groupe hydrophobe qui recouvre au moins une partie de la surface du nanocristal semi-conducteur ; et un composé organique de coordination recouvrant au moins une autre partie de la surface du nanocristal semi-conducteur.
