A B S T R A C T The invention relates to new water soluble 3-formylri- famycin SV hydrazones wherein the hydrazone moiety con- tains a phosphonoxy lower alkyl radical which imparts water solubility. The compositions containing said rifamycin derivatives are also an object of this in- vention. The new rifamycin derivatives and their phar- maceutical compositions are particularly suitable for parenteral administration.
