Tetrazolium salt compounds represented by general formula (1): wherein R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group, a carboxyl group, or a halogen atom, preferably a nitro group; R3 represents an alkyl or alkoxyl group, preferably a methyl or methoxy group; and M represents an alkali metal or an ammonium. The compounds are useful for the quantitative determination of dehydrogenases and have high water solubility and storage stability in an aqueous solution form.

Cette invention concerne des composés de sels de tetrazolium correspondant à la formule générale (1) où R<1> et R<2> représentent chacun indépendamment un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe nitro, un groupe cyano, un groupe carboxyle ou un atome halogène, mais de préférence un groupe nitro. R<3> représente un groupe alkyle ou alcoxyle et, de préférence, un groupe méthyle ou méthoxy, tandis que M représente un métal alcalin ou un ammonium. Ces composés sont utiles dans la détection quantitative de déhydrogénases, et possèdent une solubilité élevée dans l'eau ainsi qu'une bonne stabilité au stockage sous forme de solution aqueuse.
