A method of manufacturing a polyurethane compound comprises mixing together a polyol, a polyisocyanate compound and a catalyst and allowing the mixture to cure to form a polyurethane, and is characterised in that the catalyst is a neutral complex of a metal selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, Al, Fe, Bi or Sn and a multidentate organic ligand having: a) a number of anionic donor sites = x; b) a number of neutral donor sites, capable of forming a co-ordinate bond with the metal, = y; c) where x + y = from 5 to 8; d) x is from 2 to 4; e) the ligand molecule is of a size and conformation to enable each of the anionic donor sites and neutral donor sites to form a bond with the same metal atom.
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un composé de polyuréthane qui comprend l'étape consistant à mélanger un polyol, un composé de polyisocyanate et un catalyseur et à laisser durcir le mélange pour former un polyuréthane, et qui est caractérisé en ce que le catalyseur est un complexe neutre d'un métal choisi parmi Ti, Zr, Hf, Al, Fe, Bi ou Sn et d'un ligand organique multidentate qui possède : a) un nombre de sites donneurs d'anions = x ; b) un nombre de sites donneurs neutres, capable de former une liaison coordinative avec le métal, = y ; c) où x + y = de 5 à 8 ; d) x vaut de 2 à 4 ; e) la molécule de ligand est d'une taille et d'une conformation permettant à chacun des sites donneurs d'anions et des sites donneurs neutres de former une liaison avec le même atome de métal.
