ABSTRACT A water stop for a window having improved resistance to the ingress of water due to rain or other percipitation regardless of the opening arangement of the window. The stop consists of a low vertical wall member which extends parallel to and behind the outer sliding window pane or panes and which rises vertically from the sill to form a water barrier to stop any water migration across the sill.
