ABSTRACT A water treatment system directs a flow of water into an electrolytic cell in which an electric current flowing through the water increases the susceptibility of microorganisms in the water to ozone. Ozone from a generator is entrained in water from cell. The treatments have been found to have a synergistic effect in reducing microbial levels in the water. Novel apparatus for entraining ozone in water is also disclosed.
