-18- ABSTRACT Steam generating systems in which steam and water wetted components are fabricated from corrosion resistant materials. This reduces the requirement for chemical feedwater treatment to removal of dissolved solids from the feedwater. Ion exchange resins are employed for this purpose to remove contaminants from both condensate and make-up water. Feedwater treatment is completed by filtering suspended solids from the condensate and make-up water and by utilizing hot well deaeration as necessary to reduce the dissolved gases content of the feedwater to an acceptable level.
