ABSTRACT A water tank for water storage is supported on top of a column, which may be one of a plurality of supporting columns. The column consists of superimposed settling and filtration tanks, each tank supporting the tank above, the settling and filtration tanks having a common peripheral wall. Each tank has a base serving as a cover of the tank below, so that the tanks are separated from one another. Piping interconnects the tanks in such a manner that water flows from the upper part of a settling tank through a filtration tank to the upper part of the water tank.
