A coating for weatherstrips, windshield wipers, door seals, trunk seals, sunroof seals, windshield seals and the like. The coating comprises a water- based formula that provides high abrasion resistance and, optimally, also provides excellent weathering resistance. The abrasion resistance property is achieved via a combination of boron nitride and a high molecular weight silicone resin. Flexibility and weathering resistance are achieved via the addition of an acrylic/polyurethane/fluoropolymer resin binder blend and high UV-stabilizers and absorbers. Also provided is a method of manufacturing such coatings that comprises the steps of pre-dispersing the boron nitride in water and then combining the pre-dispersed boron nitride with the silicone resin and other ingredients.
Revêtement pour bourrelets de calfeutrage, essuie-glaces, garnitures d'étanchéité de portes, de coffres, de toits ouvrants, de pare-brise et analogue. Ledit revêtement possède une formule à base d'eau qui fournit une forte résistance à l'abrasion et qui, de manière optimale, fournit également une excellente résistance aux intempéries. Le résistance à l'abrasion est obtenue grâce à une combinaison de nitrure de bore et d'une résine de silicone à poids moléculaire élevé. La souplesse et la résistance aux intempéries sont obtenues grâce à l'ajout d'un mélange liant de résine acrylique / polyuréthanne / fluoropolymère, d'agents fortement photostabilisants et d'absorbants. La présente invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication de revêtements de ce type qui consiste à prédisperser le nitrure de bore dans l'eau, puis à combiner le nitrure de bore prédispersé avec la résine de silicone et les autres ingrédients.
