599 Winchester 5 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE WATERBORNE NITROCELLULOSE LACQUER EMULSION A waterborne nitrocellulose lacquer emulsion with a VOC (g/l) of 450 or lower is produced in a reactor equipped with a an impeller by inversion of a water-in-oil emulsion to an oil-in-water emulsion. On a total weight basis for solids and liquids the final emulsion contains up to 50% nitrocellulose up to 25% isopropylacetate% up to 75% water% up to 10% dibutylphthalate% up to 30% coconut alkyd and up to 10% anionic surfactant.
