An article of clothing and the method of making the same which will allow water vapor due to perspiration to transpire through the article but will prevent liquid water from external sources from reaching the wearer's extremity. One form of the article of the invention comprises a sock which is of a three-ply construction with the inside (20) and outside (22) plies being knit and the intermediate ply (12) being made from a stretch and return polyurethane film. Another form of the mandrel comprises a glove which is of a similar three-ply construction.
L'invention porte sur un vêtement, et son procédé de fabrication, permettant à la vapeur provenant de la transpiration de s'échapper, tout en empêchant la pénétration de liquides extérieurs provenant de diverses sources jusqu'aux extrémités des membres du porteur. Dans l'une de ses réalisations, le vêtement est une chaussette en trois couches dont les couches intérieure (20) et extérieure (22) sont en tricot, et la couche centrale en polyuréthane étiré, puis relâché. On utilise une autre forme de mandrin pour réaliser des gants de structure en trois couches similaire.
