ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a combination of gears to be rotatably driven, and a reciprocal rod in contact with the gears and thereby drivable thereof, and a spherical float, mounted on support structure with the float driven by wave action, the total mass of the rod and the float and any other structures such as preferably added accessory mass, are of a total mass large magnitude sufficiently to prevent the rod from being retained in the upper-most position previously resulting from insufficient mass to overcome the total of all resistance such as the predetermined work load, friction, and inertia, as well as the larger mass serving to increase to some extent the length of the strokes while simultaneously adding stability to the reciprocating strokes by virtue of the greater inertia per stroke.
