A B S T R A C T This invention relates to a three-port microwave junction circulator having a three-port junction member with a gyromagnetic element inside which has only one surface in contact with the member. A magnetic field is applied to the gyromagnetic element in a predetermined direction and there is at least one dielectric element aligned in this same direction. The gyro- magnetic element together with its associated dielectric element, does not extend completely across the junction member, and the circulator is accord- ingly a "partial height" circulator. The overall dimension of the gyro- magnetic element and its associated dielectric element is essentially equal to an odd number of quarters of a wavelength permitting propagation in the gyromagnetic and dielectric elements at the centre frequency of a working range of frequencies of the circulator.
