The present invention provides a method for reducing bleeding number in wax compositions comprising wax and oil, wherein said waxes are selected from petroleum and synthetic waxes and said oil is present in the range of 1 to 45 % w/w, by incorporating in the composition an effective amount of an oil retention agent in the form of an elastomeric polymer. The invention has particularly useful application to wax compositions used for wax candles. The invention further provides the use of elastomeric polymers for reducing bleeding number in wax compositions.

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de réduire le coefficient d'exsudation dans des compositions de cire à base de cire et d'huile. Ces cires sont issues de pétrole et de cires synthétiques et l'huile est présente dans une plage allant de 1 à 45 % en poids par l'incorporation dans cette composition d'un montant efficace d'un agent de rétention de l'huile sous la forme d'un polymère élastomère. Cette invention possède des applications qui conviennent particulièrement aux compositions de cire utilisées pour les bougies. Cette invention concerne aussi l'utilisation de polymères élastomères permettant de réduire le coefficient d'exsudation dans les compositions de cire.
